Are the Kettle Workers Paid?

Most bell-ringers are paid. Volunteers usually are not willing to give 8+ hours of their time for 6 days a week. The Salvation Army pays almost all of the bell-ringers. They have recruited homeless people from the local shelter as well as prostitutes to ring bells for them.
